Hot Texas Chili

Main Ingredients:

3 lbs ground beef
1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes
1 28 oz can of tomato sauce
1 12 oz can of tomato paste
2 40 oz cans of hot chili beans in chili sauce (use mild for less hot chili)
3 McCormick brand hot chile packets (use mild for less
hot chili)
hot mexican style chile powder seasoning (McCormick)
chile powder seasoning (McCormick)
1/2 small fresh yellow onion


Toppings:

2 pkgs shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 pkgs shredded mozzarella cheese
1 container sour cream
1 bag oyster crackers
chopped fresh onions


Preparation:

In a 12" skillet brown 3 lbs. of ground beef into small pieces using a fork. Drain all grease from the meat and continue to brown for 5 more minutes. Drain remaining grease once more. Move the browned ground beef to a deep stewing pot. Finely chop 1/2 of a small yellow onion and add to ground beef then add all remaining ingredients except for the "Hot Mexican Style Chili Powder" and mix thoroughly. Add a minimum of 2 tablespoons of "Hot Mexican Style Chili Powder" and a minimum of two tablespoons of chili powder, then if desired add more to taste. Cook at a medium heat mixing occasionally to keep from burning. Continue cooking until chili begin to boil. Remove from heat and serve.

Top with cheddar or mozzarella cheese, oyster crackers, onions and or sour cream
