Caramel Corn

Ingredients:

3 to 4 batches popped popcorn
2 cups brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup karo syrup
2 sticks butter (not margarine)


Preparation:

Place popped popcorn into turkey tray.

Place all ingredients except for baking soda into a 2 quart sauce pan. Heat and stir dissolving sugar and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes, add baking soda and stir. (mixture will double in size).

Pour mixture over popped corn and mix well, bake stirring every 15 minutes at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven and stir until cool.
